Jeff Winick, the Firm's co-founder, represents a wide range of business corporations, including some of the largest and most prominent institutions across the United States, in complex commercial matters. As a focus, Jeff has significant expertise in construction. His practice includes the representation of ownership as well as contractors and design and construction professionals in all stages of litigation in state and federal courts and arbitration proceedings. As a corollary to this focus, Jeff offers advice and counsel throughout the construction process to assist in the management of large and complex construction projects. Jeff also works extensively in the drafting and negotiation of design and construction related agreements.

Jeff is an Adjunct Professor at IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law, assisted in the creation of the Integration Course (a multi-disciplinary study of architectural and engineering practice in the "real world") at the University of Illinois Graduate School of Architecture, and is a frequent lecturer at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, the Northwestern University Law School and the Illinois Institute of Technology School of Architecture.

Besides authoring numerous professional papers and presenting lectures and speeches on matters related to the construction industry, Jeff sits as a member of the Chicago Committee on High Rise Buildings, where, in conjunction with the City of Chicago, he was an active participant in drafting revisions to the Chicago Façade Ordinance. Jeff is a member of the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM), where he is an active participant on the E06 committee and helped draft a national façade inspection standard. Jeff also regularly addresses construction and design organizations regarding legislative and regulatory issues of consequence to the construction industry.

Jeff received his law degree in 1988 from the University of Michigan and his Bachelor of Arts degree, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of Iowa in 1985.
